However,\u00a0<strong>many<\/strong>\u00a0companies\u2019\u00a0<strong>core\u00a0<\/strong>products stand\u00a0<strong>statuesque<\/strong>; the foundations of most established brands are still there.<\/p>\n<h5>ORIGINALITY IS STILL KING.<\/h5>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s Big Mac, Coca-Cola Classic, and others have essentially tried it\u00a0<strong>all\u00a0<\/strong>in brand messaging terms. The Big Mac went from\u00a0<strong>cheap\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>great value<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>fresh ingredients<\/strong>, while Coke took the leap from\u00a0<strong>healthy\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>happiness\u00a0<\/strong>inducing.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s trends focus on <strong>unique experiences\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>original,<\/strong>\u00a0earthy brand messages. Restaurants and stores boasting the words \u201c<strong>hand-made<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>trailblazing<\/strong>\u201d are dominating today\u2019s market share, while continuing to sell the same things they have been selling. Besides\u00a0<em>subtle<\/em> recipe or production changes, many of the products being advertised in this light haven\u2019t changed drastically for these new trends.<\/p>\n<h5>HERE\u2019S THEIR LOOPHOLE:<\/h5>\n<p>The products or menu items speak to this new trend of locally sourced newness. Change your drive thru\u2019s\u00a0<strong>three\u00a0<\/strong>cookies for the price of\u00a0<strong>two\u00a0<\/strong>into \u201cfresh out the oven\u201d, and highlight an entr\u00e9e by slapping on \u201cChef\u2019s Favorite!\u201d. Sell\u00a0<strong>more\u00a0<\/strong>products in your C-Store with\u00a0<strong>actionable language\u00a0<\/strong>instead of\u00a0<strong>boasting low prices\u00a0<\/strong>and cut-and-dry titles, and become\u00a0<strong>relevant\u00a0<\/strong>to the more abundant audiences you have been dreaming of.<\/p>\n<h5>DON&#8217;T CHANGE THE GAME, CHANGE THE\u00a0<em>NAME.<\/em><\/h5>\n<p>If your products seem to be selling\u00a0<strong>worse\u00a0<\/strong>than your competitors, don\u2019t give up on what you\u2019re selling. Drop the\u00a0<strong>messaging\u00a0<\/strong>your products currently use, and make way for\u00a0<strong>more dynamic language<\/strong>\u00a0that speaks to today\u2019s trends.
